We’ve now come through almost the entire regular season of the current Arrmy season. There was no shortage of excitement and closely fought matches at every level of the competition. Today, however, we’ll be focusing primarily on the Rising division. It is there that Gloris eSports will most likely have to bid farewell to their dreams of promotion to Arrma Masters. We’ll also take a look at how the organisation’s academy is faring, as it continues to compete in the Open league. Is this the definitive end of hope for the main squad, or is there still a glimmer of a chance on the horizon to turn the season’s fortunes around?
Gloris eSports in trouble – a series of matches that could have sealed their fate
Gloris eSports 1–0 Ankara Messi | walkover
The match against Ankara Messi did not take place for reasons beyond Gloris eSports’ control. The opposing team failed to turn up for the match, resulting in a walkover victory. Although every point is worth its weight in gold, the Gloris players would certainly have preferred to settle this clash on the server. Nevertheless, the 1:0 result boosted their record and briefly improved their position in the table.
Gloris eSports 10:13 Teb Esports Pro | Anubis
The clash with Teb Esports Pro on Anubis is yet another example of just how evenly matched Gloris eSports’ matches can be. Both teams were of a similar standard, and for the greater part of the match, the outcome remained in the balance. Although there was no shortage of tense moments and fierce battles for every point on the server, ultimately it was the opponents who performed better in the decisive rounds. The narrow 10–13 defeat only serves to underline just how close it was for the result to swing in Gloris’s favour.
This is one of those matches that really sting. Not only because of the loss of points, but also because of that sense of unfulfilled potential. Throughout the season, Gloris eSports has shown on more than one occasion that it can hold its own against theoretically stronger teams. But all too often, something was missing at crucial moments – be it accuracy or composure. Anubis could have been a turning point for them, but instead it became yet another chapter in a series of ‘close-run-it’ matches that end without a happy ending.
Gloris eSports 5:13 Pandemonium | Dust 2
The clash with Pandemonium was surely one that Gloris eSports would like to erase from their memory as quickly as possible. On the well-known Dust 2 map, their opponents dictated the terms of the game from the very first minutes, effectively restricting Gloris’s freedom of movement and tactical options. Despite attempts to seize the initiative, it was Pandemonium who dictated the pace, dominating both in terms of shooting and teamwork. The 5:13 scoreline speaks for itself; Gloris failed to find a way to stop their rampant opponents.
This match brutally exposed the problems that sometimes arise in Gloris’s play: a lack of consistency, difficulty in responding to their opponents’ aggressive style, and a failure to adapt quickly enough to the situation on the map. In the context of the battle for promotion, the defeat to Pandemonium was particularly painful. Not only because of the loss of points, but also due to the one-sided nature of the match. Results like this can have a negative impact on the team’s morale and confidence, especially as the season enters its decisive phase.
Gloris eSports 13:6 Lunacy Gaming | Ancient
In their clash with Lunacy Gaming, Gloris eSports were finally able to breathe a sigh of relief and prove that their earlier setbacks did not negate their potential. On the demanding Ancient map, the team put in a very strong performance, demonstrating solid teamwork, well-thought-out decisions and effective execution. This is exactly the Gloris the fans wanted to see. A team that is confident, plays as a unit and makes the most of its strengths. The 13–6 scoreline speaks volumes; it was a decisive victory that never looked in doubt for a moment.
This match may prove crucial not only in terms of points but, above all, mentally. Beating Lunacy Gaming with such momentum has allowed Gloris to remind themselves that they are capable of dominating and playing at a high level. As the season draws to a close, every victory is of immense importance, and this triumph could be the spark that further fuels their ambitions and gives the team fresh momentum. Although the road to the Masters looks exceptionally steep, Gloris have shown that they are not giving up just yet.
And what’s happening at the academy?
Gloris AC 13:9 DTK | Anubis
Gloris AC versus DTK on Anubis was a clash that the academy came out of with a confident victory, though not without a fight. The map produced a closely contested match, with both teams having their moments, but it was Gloris AC who managed to keep their cool at the crucial moments. The 13:9 scoreline shows that, although the match wasn’t one-sided, Gloris’s players had a clear advantage and confirmed their strength on this map.
This victory was undoubtedly of great significance to the academy. Not only did it secure valuable points, but it may also have boosted morale and built confidence ahead of future matches. Anubis demonstrated that Gloris AC are capable of imposing their style of play and controlling the flow of the match, which bodes well for the future.
Gloris AC 13:1 BGCTeam | Ancient
In their match against BGCTeam on the Ancient map, the Gloris academy displayed true dominance. The 13:1 scoreline speaks for itself. It was a decisive and convincing victory in which their opponents had little to offer. Gloris AC demonstrated effectiveness in every area, both in one-on-one duels and in tactical team plays.
This result has certainly given the team a huge boost, confirming that their preparation and commitment are translating into results on the server. For the academy, victories like this are not only an opportunity to pick up points, but also to build confidence and lay the foundations for future success.
Gloris AC 2:13 Brothers Bus | Mirage
However, the clash with Brothers Bus on Mirage proved to be a tough challenge for Gloris AC. Their opponents displayed a strong and aggressive style of play, which quickly translated into a clear lead on the scoreboard. The academy failed to mount an effective challenge, and the final score of 2:13 reflects their opponents’ decisive dominance.
Such a defeat is always a valuable experience, allowing the team to learn lessons and improve the aspects of their game that need work. Despite this defeat, the Gloris Academy continues to show that it is capable of competing at a high level. Consequently, with every match, it gains valuable lessons that may bear fruit in future fixtures.
What lies ahead for Gloris eSports?
The Army Rising season is slowly approaching its decisive phase. Gloris eSports faces crucial challenges that could determine its future. Although the path to promotion to the Masters division is now exceptionally difficult, the team has no intention of giving up and continues to fight for every round and every point, which could prove invaluable in the final reckoning.
Gloris’s main squad will face MENSZCZYSNI on 28 July at 8.00 pm. A team that certainly won’t go down without a fight. Just two days later, on 30 July at the same time, they’ll face NOSURRENDERGG. A team aiming for the top of the table. These will be thrilling clashes, where every mistake could cost valuable points, and every win will offer hope of staying in the running.
The Gloris Academy isn’t slowing down either, and on 27 July at 7.00 pm they’ll face off against WILCZURY. This is a perfect opportunity for them to demonstrate their strength and prove that they can be a real asset to the organisation, as well as an ambitious team that isn’t afraid of challenges on the league front.
An important chapter of the season is therefore unfolding for Gloris eSports. It’s time for the final sprint, where concentration, team synergy and fighting until the very end are what count. Regardless of the final results, one thing is certain – the team is demonstrating the character and determination that form the foundation for future successes. Now all that remains is to cheer them on, keep our fingers crossed and watch as Gloris eSports takes on the next challenges on the road to the Masters.
