The group stage of the Armitra Open is slowly drawing to a close. The tournament has often been marred by walkovers, particularly in this division. Today we’ll take a look at the Armitra Esports academy, which seems to have already secured its place in the play-offs. So far, they’ve played nine matches, two of which were walkovers. Is that a lot or a little? We’ll leave that up to you to decide, but it seems that by ‘Army standards’ it’s quite a small number.
The first 6 matches and just one defeat
We’ve written about the academy before in the context of the Armitra Open league. Back then, we focused on the first six matches, in which the academy suffered a single defeat. You can read more about that in this article. (click here to be redirected)
Three matches, one extra time
Since then, Armitra NXT has played three matches; the first was against Strzał Gąsiorki. It was a one-sided affair; our partner swept the opposing team off the map, winning 13-2 on Dust II. However, in the next match, against a team called “Bagchasers”, we had some real excitement. For the first time in a match involving Armitra NXT (in Arrmy Open S13), we saw an overtime, with the entire match played on Mirage. Unfortunately, in the end, the Armitra NXT players fell just one round short of extending the overtime, losing 14–16.

Penultimate match of the group stage
In the penultimate match, they faced off against “Cumbatanciki”. Following their defeat to “Bagchasers”, the Armitra Esports academy team returned to winning ways, this time beating Cumbatanciki. The match was played on Anubis, a map the Armitra academy seems to “like”. They played it by far the most during the 13th season of the Armitra Open, and this was already the fourth time. The result, incidentally, speaks for itself. A 13-7 victory. It is also worth noting the lethal form of “M!ody666”, who racked up 20 kills whilst dying 12 times (1.67 KDR).

Last match of the group stage
Scheduled for 28 July at 18:00 (in 3 days). Our partner’s final opponent in the group stage will be Leśne Dzbany. Their opponents are higher up the table and, like them, have played 9 matches. However, their record is slightly better, with 8 wins and 1 defeat. Armitra Academy have already secured a place in the play-offs but are fighting for a better seeding.
