Goodbyes can be difficult, but how will Red Star Zenith Esports cope with this situation? Following a run of defeats, the team has been forced to part ways with its current line-up. What does the future hold for the team?
RS Zenith’s final moments – achievements now consigned to oblivion

I know that when talking about achievements, most people expect a summary of victories, but in the case of RS Zenith, the situation is a little more complex. Although their performance in the regular season of ESEA Season 52 was certainly impressive, the team was unable to maintain that high standard in the play-offs. In Season 12 of Arrmy Rising, however, things were far worse – from the very start, nothing went the team’s way, and ultimately, in their final matches, they had to forfeit.
- Arrmy Rising:
- Defeat vs Modern Players
- Defeat vs SLAKE
- Defeat vs Türkiye Federasyonu
- Defeat vs emeritos menelos
- Defeat vs No Drive
- Defeat vs The Vynz
- Defeat vs DropDeadGaming
The start of Season 12 of Army Rising was evenly matched, and the match against Modern Players ended 11–13, suggesting that the team still had a chance. Unfortunately, the next match against SLAKE turned out to be a clear defeat, with a score of 5–13, which severely dented the team’s morale. In contrast, the clash with Türkiye Federasyonu offered a glimmer of hope – we saw another solid performance, although the final score of 10–13 left the team with no chance of victory. In the subsequent matches, however, RS Zenith faced a steep decline. The clash with Emeritos Menelos ended in a crushing 2–13 defeat, and the team was forced to forfeit the subsequent matches, which only deepened the disappointment.
- ESEA Open10 Play-offs:
- Defeat vs Tiim
- Defeat vs SPORTIA KHORE
Red Star Zenith’s campaign in the ESEA also offers little cause for optimism. Although the team managed to progress to the next stage with a fairly good 8–6 record, unfortunately they were unable to close out matches in a way that would have given them a chance of advancing further. The early matches still offered some hope – there were signs of a fight, but a lack of firepower in the closing stages of rounds led to defeats at crucial moments. The match against Tiim ended in three closely fought maps, but the 1–2 result reflects the team’s disappointment. The first map, Inferno, ended in a 6–13 defeat, but on Anubis, RS Zenith put in a better performance, winning 13–11. Unfortunately, they ran out of steam on Mirage, and the match ended 11–13 in their opponents’ favour.
The next match against SPORTIA KHORE, unfortunately, went even worse. On the first map, the team suffered a one-sided 3–13 defeat, which foreshadowed difficulties on the next one. Despite this, on the second map, the fans began to feel hopeful, as the match was very evenly contested. After several overtime periods, unfortunately, they lacked the finishing touch and the score was 17–19, which only intensified the sense of a missed opportunity, whilst the final result of 0–2 ended their hopes of progression.
Unfortunately, it is currently unclear what lies ahead for the Red Star Zenith squad. The team certainly faces a period of reflection and perhaps some changes that will allow them to get back to their best. However, there is still hope that, after this difficult period, they will return stronger and more motivated. It’s worth following their social media and keeping up to date with any changes, as teams that have gone through tough times have, on more than one occasion, managed to climb back to the top. Time will tell what the future holds for Red Star Zenith – let’s hope they’ll be able to show that their CS2 adventure isn’t over yet.
