Hussars kick off their 13th season in the Army Masters with a 2–1 record

- -

The 13th season of the Arrma leagues has recently begun; naturally, the Open league kicked off first, followed a few days later by the Rising and Masters leagues. As a result, we had to wait a little while for our partners’ first matches in these leagues. The Hussars were among the first teams in the entire league to play their opening match; they’ve now played three matches and have a 2–1 record, which bodes well for the rest of the season.

Opening match – Hussars vs Energolek

Matches between players from former organisations often stir up quite a bit of excitement, and this time we saw just such a scenario unfold. The core of the Hussars team – GrimRP, M1cho and Bunnyhug – were playing against their former organisation, now operating under the mixed-line-up name Energolek. The clash took place on Ancient, a map where both teams feel at home, and it promised to be a closely fought match. Our partner started on the CT side, where the sides are very evenly matched on this map and it’s practically impossible to tell which side has the advantage. However, the pistol round went to the opponents, and they began the match with a 2–0 lead. Hussars’ first full round didn’t go too well, and the Energolek team really picked up the pace, quickly building a lead of as much as 5–0. Our partner team finally managed to win the first round, giving them hope that they could still get back into the game. Despite this, they failed to capitalise on the momentum, and the opponents went on to win three consecutive rounds. This was followed by another response, this time worth two points. However, the final round of the first half went to the opposing team, and the first half ended with Energolek leading 9–3.

In the second half, the only thing that could have saved our partner was a win in the pistol round. However, they failed to secure that too, and their opponents had a clear run at victory. They managed to capitalise on this excellent opportunity, not conceding a single round to their rivals in the second half. Thus, the Hussars began this season with a defeat.

After the storm comes the sunshine – Hussars vs Bez Podjazdu

Two days after their previous match, the Hussars faced another fixture, this time against ‘Bez Podjazdu’. However, despite the high level of the competition, we witnessed a scenario straight out of the Open League, as the opponents failed to turn up on the scheduled date, resulting in a walkover and the first victory added to our partner’s record.

Finally, a win in the usual way – Hussars vs ATP

The next match took place as normal and was played against the ATP team. This team has already spent a couple of seasons in the Masters division, which speaks to their standard. The Hussars are making their debut, so their opponents were generally considered the favourites. The map chosen was Nuke, where both teams can compete on equal terms; our team started on the attacking side and had to fight their way back from the outset after a failed pistol round. Their opponents were in no mood to make that comeback any easier, and thanks to winning the first full-vs-full round, they quickly took a 5–0 lead. They were only stopped when the score reached 6–0, and that’s when the Hussars got their chance to mount a comeback. They made the most of that opportunity and managed to level the score by half-time.

The first half of this match gave us a comeback, but will the second half do the same? It’s time to find out… The Hussars got off to a good start, taking an 8–6 lead thanks to a win in the pistol round. Their opponents fought back, but failed to level the score, and our partner regained a two-point lead. We saw another round-for-round exchange, and then it was ATP who broke the deadlock and levelled the score at 10–10. The final four rounds were to decide which team would emerge victorious. ATP scored 11 points and were two points away from victory. However, it was the Hussars who won every round from then on, taking the match 13–11 and recording their first positive record of the season.

Who will the Hussars be facing next?
