ViBe Gaming are performing very well in this season’s ESEA Entry. Following our last article, they had a 4:2 record and showed no signs of slowing down. Today we know the results of their next three matches, and things are looking very promising. They’re currently on course for the play-offs in Pot B, but of course they’re still fighting for a place in Pot A, which guarantees them promotion to the Intermediate league and gives them a chance to compete for a place in the Main league. Pool B is, of course, a bit tougher, because to advance to the Intermediate league from there, you need to win either three matches without a single defeat, or four matches with just one defeat.
An international mix that no longer exists? – ViBe Gaming vs SuperHymy
The first match we were due to cover today was supposed to be against SuperHymy. This is an international mix, in which we even managed to spot a Polish player by the nickname ‘elem’, who gained a bit of fame on the scene whilst taking part in the final trials for Phantom Esports. Our partner’s opponents had most likely split up quite recently, as they even managed to ban the maps, but nobody joined the server. This could, of course, only mean one thing: a walkover victory for ViBe. Thanks to this, they’ve now added a fifth win to their record and are closing in on the play-offs.

Are there eagles in Finland? – ViBe Gaming vs Inceptor
The next opponent to turn up for the match was a Finnish team called Inceptor. But where does the subtitle for this match come from? It obviously stems from the rivals’ logo, which most likely features an eagle. For them, this was also their first season in the Entry division, so it promised to be quite an interesting match. Ancient was chosen as the map for this clash, and ViBe Gaming started on the attacking side.
The pistol round didn’t go their way, but their fighting spirit and the decision to go for the fort paid off handsomely. Thanks to that, we soon saw our team take a 3–1 lead. But they didn’t stop there. First, they extended their lead to 5–1, and as they pressed on, giving their opponents no chance of a comeback, they also managed to take the score to 8–1. Inceptor, however, managed to rouse themselves before half-time, and the final three rounds went their way, leaving the score at 8–4 at the end of the first half.
After the sides swapped, the Finnish team once again tipped the balance of the pistol round in their favour, thereby closing the gap on ViBe to just two points. Of course, this time it wasn’t a force play by our partner, which meant that after two rounds, the opponents would have full gear. They made excellent use of this and managed to quickly and successfully extend their lead. They pushed on to the match rounds; although the opponents didn’t give up easily, the victory went to them anyway, with a final score of 13–7. Our partner has thus secured their sixth victory in the league phase, whilst maintaining a record of just two defeats.
How long can a winning streak last? – ViBe Gaming vs DoxaGG
Yesterday (11 August) saw a clash against the Romanian team DoxaGG. A fairly strong opponent, but of course one that could be beaten, especially by the ViBe Gaming players, who were on a roll after their previous two victories. The map for this match was Mirage, often referred to by many as the ‘Polish’ map. The knife round wasn’t kind to our partner, who had to start on the TT side.
The pistol round also didn’t go our partner’s way, and they found themselves trailing 0–2. They managed to fight back and close the gap, but only briefly. Their opponents pulled away again, this time building a lead of as many as five rounds. However, our partner, showing nerves of steel, won three rounds in a row and had a chance to draw level before the end of the first half of the match. However, they fell one round short, which the opponents managed to snatch. Thus, the first half of the match ended with a score of 7–5.
The start of the second half wasn’t the best, as the opponents won the pistol round, which propelled them to an 11–6 lead. Despite this bleak situation, our team fought fiercely. They won three rounds in a row, and it already looked as though they had pulled off a legendary comeback. At that point, however, the opponents managed to score their 12th point, which would have dealt a severe blow to the morale of many teams. Not so for ViBe Gaming, though, as they managed to rally and complete their comeback successfully, taking the match into overtime.
Replay was already a success in this situation, but even there, a tough challenge awaited our partner. Their opponents had no intention of making it easy for them, and by the end of the first half of the extra rounds, they had taken a 14–13 lead. This, of course, meant that for our partner to win the match, they would have to win all three extra rounds whilst on the attacking side. Unfortunately, they didn’t even come close, as they failed to win a single round. Sadly, despite such a comeback, ViBe had to add a third defeat to their record and concede defeat to their rivals.
