Summit Clash is slowly heading into the knockout stages. We recently reported on how our partners fared in the group stage, where Constrict Gaming managed to finish in 2nd place, thereby qualifying directly for the quarter-finals. We now know the result of their first play-off match, and it’s quite encouraging.
The battle for the Summit Clash semi-finals – Constrict Gaming vs ChamyPL
The opponent our partner had to face was ChamyPL. This team had a 4–2 record in the regular season and didn’t seem like a particularly strong opponent. However, surprises do happen, and Constrict Gaming were determined not to let one occur in such an important match. The maps selected for this clash were Dust 2 (chosen by ChamyPL), Overpass (chosen by Constrict) and Ancient (the decider).
DUST 2
Constrict Gaming 13–9 ChamyPL
The first map played was Dust 2, chosen by our partner’s rivals. Nevertheless, Constrict had played this map several times in the ESEA Main league and hadn’t fared too badly. This time, too, they put up a superb fight. Apparently, any difference between the previous line-up and the current one has now been erased, as the new signing, Storm, performed absolutely brilliantly in this match. He racked up 22 kills and 11 deaths, giving him an impressive K/D ratio of 2. This map, of course, went to our partner’s tally, and quite easily at that, with a score of 13–9.
OVERPASS
Constrict Gaming 13:11 ChamyPL
The second map, this time selected by our partner, was Overpass. The new map in the pool was most likely chosen primarily with the opponent in mind. However, it was ChamyPL who surprised everyone with their resilience here. They managed to keep the score level at 6–6 after the first half, and in the second half they came close to forcing extra time. Ultimately, however, it was Constrict Gaming who won this map, taking the match 2–0. It wasn’t a particularly tough encounter for them, but the further they go, the tougher it’s bound to get.
Who will Constrict Gaming face in the semi-finals?
At the moment, our partner’s semi-final opponent is unknown, but we know it will be one of these three: Nexium POLteam, VoFoxen or Hussars. This means we already know that our partner is certain to be the winner of this edition of Summit Clash. The only question remaining is which one…
