Has VoFoxen Rising found its form in ESEA?

- -

Following a run of inconsistent form, which we described in our previous article, the VoFoxen Rising squad finally seems to be hitting its stride. The team, which in previous rounds had shown flashes of brilliance only to lose its rhythm, put in a much more consistent performance this time round. In the last four matches of the ESEA Entry regular season, the young Foxes emerged victorious on three occasions. In doing so, they demonstrated that they are capable of learning from their earlier missteps. Although there were certainly some tense moments and matches decided in tight finishes, it is precisely these that best illustrate just how much the team has matured during the competition. The team is starting to play with greater composure and confidence, which could prove crucial in the final stages of the season, where every map could determine whether they make it to the playoffs.

Consistency and fighting for every point

Polska VoFoxen Rising [13:11] LiskenClan Turcja | Mirage

Round six brought an exciting clash with LiskenClan, which was far from easy from the very start. The Turkish rivals set a high tempo and forced VoFoxen Rising to play under pressure, resulting in an unfavourable 5-7 score at half-time. Despite this, the team kept their cool and set about making up the deficit with a clear head. The second half of the match was a display of consistency and better organisation on the part of the Green Foxes. Each round began to take on increasing importance, and VoFoxen gradually seized the initiative. Good decisions at key moments and effective execution allowed them to turn the match around and secure a valuable 13:11 victory on the Mirage map.

Polska VoFoxen Rising [13:11] WOODEN5 :fi: | Inferno

The next match against WOODEN5 was proof of VoFoxen Rising’s growing confidence and improving team chemistry. This time, the team entered the match with greater composure, controlling the pace of the game from the very first rounds. After an even start, they managed to build a 7:5 lead, which provided a solid foundation for the second half. The green-clad VoFoxen players maintained their focus right to the very end, effectively countering attempts by their Finnish opponents to mount a comeback. The game was fiercely contested, but the Foxes kept their cool at crucial moments, securing another victory 13:11. The triumph on Inferno only confirmed that the team is starting to find its rhythm.

Polska VoFoxen Rising [13:11] Cowboys-Esports Hiszpania | Inferno

The third consecutive victory came against Cowboys-Esports, once again played on Inferno. However, the start of the match did not go according to plan for VoFoxen Rising. The team had to play catch-up and were trailing 5-7 at half-time. Despite this, they showed no lack of determination or belief in turning the match around. After the break, the young Foxes demonstrated tremendous mental resilience. Effective communication, better positioning and a feel for their opponents’ pace allowed them to gradually take control of the match. In the closing stages, VoFoxen kept their cool and secured their third consecutive victory… Once again 13:11, in a style befitting a team that is beginning to believe in its own abilities.

Polska VoFoxen Rising [7:13] LiskenClan Rosja | Inferno

VoFoxen Rising’s winning streak was brought to an end by a clash with NE PRIEHALI, once again played on Inferno. After three hard-fought victories in a row, the team went into the match hoping to extend their run of form, but this time their opponents proved better prepared. The first half was extremely even and ended in a 6-6 draw, promising more excitement after the break. The second half, however, belonged entirely to the Russian side, who dictated the pace and capitalised effectively on VoFoxen’s mistakes. Despite attempts to turn the match around, the Foxes were unable to regain their earlier momentum. The match ended with a 7-13 defeat. Unfortunately, the winning streak has come to an end… Though the performance itself left the impression that the team still has a solid foundation on which to build further successes.

Summary

After nine rounds of the ESEA Entry regular season, the VoFoxen Rising squad can finally speak of noticeable progress. With a 5–4 record, the team is in positive territory and is beginning to look more confidently towards the top of the table. Recent matches have shown that, despite moments of uncertainty, the team can keep its cool in crucial rounds and effectively close out close matches.

VoFoxen still have a few decisive rounds ahead of them, which will determine whether they advance to the knockout stage. If the team maintains its current momentum and continues to build its play on communication and consistency, then “finding form” may turn out to be more than just a question in the title… It could be a sign of a truly solid end to the season.
