Week after week goes by, and we’re still keeping an eye on the updates to the Underground | CS2 Community rankings. It’s a very interesting list, especially as these are, as the name suggests, underground teams. A single strong performance by one of these teams can catapult them right to the top and give them a significant lead over the rest. This was certainly the case in the past with Lunacy Gaming. Their excellent performances in the ESEA and Arrmy leagues propelled them to a very comfortable first place.
However, this team’s lead gradually eroded, and it seemed they would soon lose first place and have to fight to reclaim the top spot. That is exactly what happened in this update. Here’s how the rest of the rankings played out:

The change at the top of the table certainly had a positive effect on the other teams in the rankings. It showed them that even from lower down the table, it is possible to rise to the top spot. Apart from this change, teams such as Team Fairus (up 3 places) – thanks to some very strong recent performances and a tournament win – Team Perun (up 5 places) – consolidating their position with strong performances in underground tournaments, Croxic E-Sport (up 5 places) – attempting to break into the top 20.
Of course, alongside the many positive developments, there are also the less favourable ones – the drops. Some of the biggest drops were seen in teams such as: Excurity Gaming (from 8th to 10th) – likely due to a lack of activity, Ignis Five (from 9th to 11th) – poorer results recently plus few matches, Blacmonkeyk (from 13th to 16th) – also a slight lull in competition, and Knagi Niebisza (from 17th to 20th) – a lack of significant activity. As you can see, most of the drops are mainly due to the above teams not playing any matches. This is, of course, also caused by the lack of underground tournaments, particularly those without an entry fee.
All the teams in the rankings are now simply waiting for the upcoming start of the Arrmy leagues, where there are always the most points to be won. Securing a place in the play-offs, and particularly achieving specific promotions, could give individual teams a huge advantage until the end of the year, by which time these competitions will have all but finished.
