The first week of December brings us another update to the Underground | CS2 Community rankings, and the excitement, as always, shows no sign of letting up. Although it’s only the start of the month, the balance of power is starting to look increasingly interesting. Some teams are finding their form, whilst others are looking for ways to bounce back after weaker performances. This time, the changes haven’t been as dramatic as in previous weeks, but there have still been a few significant shifts, particularly in the middle and lower parts of the table. The top of the table remains unchanged, though the point differentials show that any slip-up could quickly cost a team its place. So let’s see who has made the most of the start of the month, and who still has to fight to rebuild their position.
Changes in the Underground | CS2 Community rankings – a stable top, shuffling further down
In the first December update of the Underground | CS2 Community rankings, it’s clear that the top teams are maintaining a steady pace. Jonixal remains the undisputed leader, although this time they recorded a slight drop in points, from 463 to 454. Despite this slight setback, their lead over the rest of the field remains secure. Close behind, M0CZODOL holds onto second place and, as one of the few teams in the top five to gain points, has jumped from 348 points to 359 points. There are no changes on the lowest step of the podium either. Victoria Nostra managed to hold onto third place, taking their tally to 310 points. MiVORI and Lunacy Gaming also retained their positions, although both teams recorded slight losses compared with the previous standings. The biggest shake-ups only begin in the middle of the table. Here, most teams have simply held onto their positions, but the point differences are so small that any given week could cause a major shake-up.
It is worth noting the rise of NONAME, which jumped from 15th to 13th place, overtaking Spectra Esport and Awanturnicy. There are no spectacular leaps, but these movements are indicative of the team’s strong performance. COTIY also made modest progress, moving up from 21st to 20th place and increasing their tally to 28 points. Blacmonkeyk, on the other hand, dropped one place, suffering a slight loss of points. Two new teams have appeared at the bottom of the table: rzufie and LHG. Both are just beginning their journey in the rankings, but have already secured their first points. Croxic Esport AC and Eclypse have also moved up slightly, both now level on 5 points. The biggest drop in this section is VISIONARY VEIL, which has slipped three places down the table.
This is just the start of the December excitement
Although the first December update didn’t bring any spectacular shake-ups, it’s clear that the Underground | CS2 Community rankings are evolving week by week. The top teams are maintaining a steady pace, but in the middle and lower reaches of the table, the shifts are becoming increasingly noticeable. Some teams are slowly climbing the ranks, whilst others are looking for ways to find their rhythm and rebuild their points tally. An increasing number of teams are picking up their first points, which shows that the community is constantly growing and the competition is only getting tougher.
It’s worth remembering, however, that it’s only the start of the month. The coming weeks could bring much bigger changes, especially if the teams really get into their match rhythm. If the current updates are merely a gentle warm-up before a more intense end to the year, we can expect some truly interesting shake-ups in the near future. All signs suggest that the battle for every position is only just gathering momentum.
