Armitra’s main squad was the subject of our article quite recently, in which we covered their speedrun of the group stage at Arrmy Masters. As well as the Arrmy tournament, the team is of course competing in ESEA Main, which isn’t something you can breeze through. In theory, it’s harder to reschedule a match, and the tournament is definitely bigger than Arrmy, so it’s also difficult to find any exceptions. Matches in the Main division are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 pm.
It is worth noting that last season, Armitra’s players also competed in ESEA Main, though that was their debut season. Having played a season in Main, they have certainly gained experience, although the squad is slightly different from last season’s. A new season, new challenges, new goals. What are Armitra’s ambitions? They are certainly high, and their start to the season suggests nothing less.
Polish derby to kick things off
Armitra has played four matches so far, just like the other teams in this division. In their first match, they faced “uwuZA100sm”. As the name suggests, the team is from Poland. Despite this, Armitra Esports left no room for doubt and gave their opponents no quarter. Armitra Esports won their first match of the 54th ESEA Main season 13-4 on Inferno. Ki3lo was named MVP of the match, racking up 16 eliminations and 9 deaths.
Victory over Qmistry and Sicarios
Although the win against the former was a walkover, as the opponent failed to show up on the server. From what we understand, they were unable to field a full squad of five players. The match against EUCL Sicarios, however, has already taken place. The whole match was played on Ancient, where our team was trailing 5-7 at half-time. In the second half, however, they kicked into high gear, winning eight rounds, giving us a 13-11 victory for Armitra Esports.
On an individual level, two Armitra players delivered performances that stood out from the rest. We’re talking about “qwe-”, who racked up 20 kills with 15 deaths, and “Piku”, who seems to have put in an even better performance. 21 kills with 13 deaths is more than a solid performance. Congratulations, and we wish you the same form throughout the season. Here are the statistics from this match:
A momentary slump…
Last Thursday, Armitra Esports hosted Nordix Esport. The opponent was from Norway and currently has a 3-1 record (following this match). It’s difficult to say much more about them, as we aren’t familiar with the Nordic scene. However, we know that one match does not ruin the whole season, let alone the group stage, and looking at Armitra’s last game, it is more of an exception than the rule. As you may have guessed from our words, Armitra Esports lost this match. They lost, and by a score of 3 to 13, on Mirage.
What does the future hold?
We don’t know that; we’re not fortune-tellers. However, we do know who Armitra will face today and in two days’ time (on Thursday). Today at 8 pm they will host JUMBO Team, a Russian side who could be considered slight favourites for this match, though not necessarily so, as they have a worse record than our team. Nevertheless, it will be a tough match for Armitra.
On Thursday, also at 8.00 pm, they will face pisyatdva. As the name suggests, this team is also from Russia. However, the situation in the league is more interesting for these lads, as they have only played one match so far, so it is difficult to say anything about their form. They have played one match so far, they play their second today, and their third tomorrow. One match certainly won’t help Armitra analyse their style of play, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that their busy schedule will have a positive impact on Armitra’s result.
