The Vanguard Cup has kicked off in style, and the first thrills have already emerged among our partners. Avalanche.gg entered the fray for the first time, making their long-awaited debut. However, their hopes of a successful start were quickly dashed by reality. The first match, meanwhile, showed that the road to success in the tournament would not be an easy one. On the same day, however, Nexium POLteam presented a completely different face. From the very first rounds, they set their own pace and left their opponents in no doubt, demonstrating complete control over the course of the match. These two matches, though played in the same tournament, show just how different the stories our partners can write. From a difficult start to ruthless dominance. It is already clear that the Vanguard Cup will deliver thrills that are not to be missed.
Avalanche.gg – a debut that was meant to be different
For Avalanche.gg, this match was meant to be more than just another fixture. It was the squad’s official debut… A moment to make a strong first impression and mark their presence on the scene. Every player and fan was hoping to see a new level of quality, energy and teamwork that would allow the team to enter the tournament with momentum. Reality, however, proved far more demanding. The match against SAINTS on Mirage quickly showed that a debut doesn’t always go to plan.
From the very first rounds, the opponents dictated their own pace and control of the map, and Avalanche.gg found themselves in a difficult situation almost immediately. As is well known, Mirage is a map that demands precise decisions, consistent communication and quick reactions to the opponent’s moves. Every attempt at a bolder play was thwarted by the opponents’ experience. This, in turn, forced the team to quickly find ways to stem the tide of their opponents’ advantage. There were moments when Avalanche.gg showed flashes of their potential strength. Individual rounds offered hope that the team might soon find their rhythm and break through their opponents’ defences, but SAINTS effectively quashed every attempt at a comeback.
The final score of 4:13 clearly shows that their debut was not a success. However, at the same time, such a match may prove to be a valuable lesson. For Avalanche.gg, this is an opportunity to learn from their mistakes, correct them and return stronger for future matches. Their debut may have been difficult, but this is only the beginning of their Vanguard Cup campaign, and the team’s true character will be revealed in the upcoming clashes.
Nexium POLteam – total control and ruthless execution
Whilst Avalanche.gg had to face a bitter lesson, Nexium POLteam showed a completely different side to the competition. Their match against Cigano Bulls on the Ancient map was a display of strength and confidence from the very first minutes. It was clear that every move they made was well thought out, and every decision precise. Right from the start, everything indicated that the team was entering the server with a clear plan and full awareness of their capabilities.
Naturally, POLteam made their presence felt very quickly, dictating their own pace almost from the outset. What’s more, their play was exceptionally well-organised… Every player knew exactly where they should be at any given moment, what decisions to make, and how to react to their opponents’ moves. Any attempts at a counter-attack by the Cigano Bulls were met with an immediate response from POLteam, which only widened the gap and increased the pressure on their opponents. The team consistently capitalised on their rivals’ mistakes, scoring at moments when it seemed the Cigano Bulls might get back into the game. With each successive round, the lead grew, and the players’ confidence became increasingly evident.
The final score of 13:4 leaves no doubt that this was a display of dominance in its purest form. Nexium POLteam not only won, but did so in a manner that is sure to command respect from all their future opponents in the Vanguard Cup. The team showed that they are fully prepared, confident in their abilities and ready for the challenges that the rest of the tournament will bring. This match proved that when Nexium logs onto the server, control and consistency are absolute priorities.
This is just the beginning
Our partners’ first appearances in the Vanguard Cup have shown two contrasting paths. Whilst Avalanche.gg faces the challenge of reacting quickly and rebuilding after a difficult debut, Nexium POLteam, on the other hand, is sending a clear signal that it does not intend to be merely a backdrop for other teams. Nisla Rakov is still awaiting its match, which will round off our partners’ performances in this phase of the tournament. It is already clear that there will be no shortage of excitement, and this is only the first chapter of this story.
