Arrma’s thirteenth season can now be considered over, and all the key results in the Open division are already known. The final match of the season was set to be the clash between ViBe Gaming and The Baiters, which brought the battle for promotion spots to a close. As you probably know, as many as eight teams will be promoted from the Open to the Rising division. Therefore, the battle for the championship no longer holds much significance, and the real competition for titles only begins in the higher divisions. ViBe Gaming 2:0 The Baiters

As you are no doubt well aware, the Open division has long been associated with frequent walkovers, and this season has only confirmed that. The best example of this is The Baiters, who won every one of their previous playoff matches in precisely this way. In other words, their opponents didn’t show up on the server, and they consistently progressed further down the bracket without playing a single map. So one could get the impression that the team was heading straight for Rising. However, this time it was they themselves who failed to turn up for the decisive clash.
What exactly happened? It’s hard to say. Perhaps they lacked motivation, perhaps it was down to organisational or personnel issues. Or maybe they simply forgot they were playing in the playoffs. We don’t know. The fact remains, however, that instead of an exciting, decisive contest, fans saw another 2-0 awarded by default. Nevertheless, ViBe Gaming secured a place in the higher division without having to play a single round.
The most important takeaway from all this is that ViBe Gaming is joining Army Rising. Although the circumstances of their promotion may leave fans feeling somewhat unsatisfied, as every supporter would have preferred to see the team battling it out on the server, the result itself is definitely positive. ViBe is moving up to the higher division and embarking on a new phase, where a completely different level of competition awaits them.
For the players themselves, this is a huge opportunity for development and to test themselves against stronger opponents. For the fans, meanwhile, it heralds greater excitement, as the battle in Rising is for more than just promotion. ViBe will have to show their full potential and prove that they deserve a place among the best.
