Although the new season on the Counter-Strike 2 underground scene is already in full swing, and teams have played their first matches, the transfer window continues to bring further changes. Not all organisations managed to finalise their line-ups before the start of the season. That’s why, in recent weeks, we’ve continued to see transfers, squad reshuffles and decisions that could impact the rest of the competition. This time, we’ll focus on three changes that have taken place at our partner organisations in recent weeks. First, we’ll revisit Gloris eSports’ suspension of operations. This is news that broke about a month ago, but we’re only now in a position to cover it in more detail. Next, we’ll look at VoFoxen Esport’s acquisition of the majority of the former Gloris squad and the unveiling of NPK Esport’s new starting five. We’d also like to take this opportunity to apologise for the delay in covering the Gloris story, and today we’re making up for lost time by summarising the most important squad changes of recent weeks.
Gloris eSports suspends operations
As we mentioned in the introduction, we’ll start by returning to a piece of news which, unfortunately, we overlooked when it was first published. Around a month ago, Gloris eSports officially announced the suspension of its operations. This brings to an end a project which, despite its relatively short history, managed to make its mark on the underground scene with some truly solid results.
In its statement, the organisation highlighted its most significant achievements from recent months. These included promotion to ESEA Intermediate and participation in the ArrMY Masters. In addition, they secured qualification for the Galaxy Cup LAN finals and victory in the Lunacy Cup. These results demonstrated that Gloris was developing in the right direction and, in a relatively short time, had managed to compete with the leading teams on the national scene.
On the occasion of the announcement, the organisation also thanked all the players for their commitment and contribution to the project’s development. The farewell graphic featured Awee, Sparzak, XXX, Shaaku, Snow, Medi and Krux. These were the players and coaching staff who, in recent months, had formed the backbone of the team and were responsible for Gloris eSports’ greatest successes.
Although the organisation’s closure was certainly disappointing news for both players and fans, the story of this squad did not end with the project’s closure. Most of the players found a new home very quickly. Thanks to this, the team maintained continuity in its performances, and before long we were able to see its core members competing once again under the colours of a new organisation.
VoFoxen Esport takes on the core of the former Gloris
The Gloris eSports players didn’t have to wait long to find a new organisation. Shortly after the announcement that their previous club was suspending operations, VoFoxen Esport unveiled its new line-up, based largely on players who had previously represented Gloris.
The new VoFoxen team consists of SzostyZmysl, Medi, Snow, M4tty, Lienisko and coach Krux. This means that the organisation has opted to combine the tried-and-tested core of the former Gloris with a few personnel changes. At the same time, it is opening a new chapter in its history. Alongside the team’s unveiling, VoFoxen has also decided to refresh its brand image. The organisation has moved away from its distinctive orange colour scheme, switching to green tones previously associated with its academy team. Thus, the change has encompassed not only the squad but also the visual identity of the entire project.
We had our first chance to see the new line-up in action during the finals of the Olsztyn Gaming Series LAN tournament. We mentioned the transfer in our coverage of the tournament. VoFoxen’s run ended in the semi-finals, where they ultimately finished in 3rd–4th place. Although the result certainly left something to be desired, simply qualifying for the LAN event was further confirmation of this team’s potential and a promising start to this new chapter under the VoFoxen banner.
However, this is not the end of the challenges for the new line-up. The team is also still competing in the ArrMY Masters, where they have already completed the first rounds of the season. As we described in our latest tournament round-up, the start was not the easiest. However, the team still has many matches ahead of it that could shake up the league table. Bringing in most of Gloris’s players has allowed them to retain much of their existing team chemistry and experience. Therefore, over time, VoFoxen may make an even stronger mark on the scene.
NPK Esport unveils a revamped line-up
NPK Esport has also decided to make some changes. The organisation has officially unveiled the line-up that will represent it in the upcoming competitions. Although the announcement was brief, we now know the full five-man squad and the date of the new team’s planned debut.
The line-up comprises Viren, Kamixo, Adasko, Szinoj and Argeen. Of particular note is the return of Kamixo, whom the organisation has officially welcomed back into its ranks. The other players also received a warm welcome, and NPK Esport wished the whole team the best of luck ahead of the start of their competitive campaign together.
Although it is difficult to assess the potential of the new line-up with any certainty at this stage, every personnel change marks a new chapter for both the organisation and the players themselves. The start of this collaboration will primarily be a period of building communication, team chemistry and developing a suitable playing style that will enable them to compete effectively against other teams on the Polish scene.
The new line-up’s debut is scheduled for 11 July. It is then that fans will be able to see for themselves, for the first time, how the revamped team performs in an official match. So all that remains is to be patient and watch… Will this new line-up prove to be the start of a successful project that will regularly compete for better and better results in the coming months?
The transfer frenzy is slowly dying down
Although the last few weeks have brought a few more significant squad changes, one gets the impression that the transfer situation in the lower leagues is gradually beginning to stabilise. Most organisations have now finalised their line-ups, and players can focus primarily on competing in leagues and tournaments.
Of course, history has shown time and again that in esports, nothing can be taken for granted. Unexpected changes of plan or decisions by organisations can completely turn the situation on its head, even in the middle of the season. At the moment, however, all the signs point to a period ahead where the biggest thrills will come not from transfers, but from the results achieved by teams on the server. Will the current line-ups turn out to be the final ones? We’ll find out in the coming weeks.
