Whilst some individuals and organisations are slinging mud at each other over who is the real ‘UNDERGROUND’, and who has the right to use that name, we’re bringing you another update to the UNDERGROUND | CS2 Community rankings and our ‘opinion’ on recent events surrounding our partner. We’d like to make it clear straight away that this opinion is subjective and mainly reflects our thoughts – mine, as the owner, and those of the other editors.
We’re revealing who is actually the founder of the Underground community in Poland. Incidentally, this has sparked a bit of a Polish-Polish spat. In our view, by naming the Discord server ‘UNDERGROUND | CS2 Community’ or ‘UNDERGROUND CS2’, such issues were bound to come to light sooner or later. It’s like naming a project (for example) ‘Metro’, ‘Train’ – there are plenty of examples. It’s a different matter when we’re talking about the name UG CS2, but none of these gentlemen or ladies thought of that, and in our view, the blame lies with all those who agreed to such a name.
The article below is not a statement of any kind, nor is it intended to offend either the UNDERGROUND | CS2 Community or Underground CS2. The situation is quite similar to the one we went through back in 2020, when one of the owners of N**gaming.pl (more recently e-n**gaming.pl) accused us of plagiarising a logo, but was unaware that it is impossible to register a logo that isn’t sufficiently unique; at the time, both our logo and that of our competitor featured a ‘pad’. In both cases, this ‘pada’ wasn’t in the least bit unique; it differed in almost no way from the countless others found all over the internet. Why am I writing this? The same applies to the name UNDERGROUND, which isn’t unique enough to be registered. And sure, it’s probably possible with certain modifications, but it’s still almost impossible. We don’t want to play at being lawyers here, but thanks to our experience with the gentleman from the ‘E’ portal, we’ve learnt a thing or two. In a way, it’s turned into a Polish-Polish war, and it’s slowly starting to seem as though this war isn’t going to end.
Just to be clear once more, we wish both ‘underground’ communities the best of luck in their development. We hope that the situation won’t affect our partnerships and that teams (not just our partners) won’t be judging who has good relations with which ‘underground’ group. We also hope that the above statement will not affect our active partnerships in any way; however, if anyone has any doubts, we encourage you to get in touch – you know where to find us.
This statement is published following our review of publicly available information regarding the Underground CS2 project and posts by its owner (Light). We have also taken note of the information and views provided by our partner.
We would also like to dispel any potential rumours that might arise. The fact that UNDERGROUND | CS2 Community is currently our partner does not mean that another ‘underground’ project or similar initiative cannot exist alongside them; however, in any collaboration, one must seek benefits for both parties, and one of the benefits of collaborating with this particular UNDERGROUND is the publication of the latest ranking update:

As you can see, the leader of the ranking has changed, though not entirely. Last week, TNC Esports took over the Grin Esports squad. Nexium POLteam has made a fairly significant leap up the table compared to the previous ranking, and you can see the partners’ positions in the team profiles. This is not our conflict, so we will not be getting further involved in it. Underground | CS2 Community is currently our partner, and as long as they do not terminate the partnership or breach the terms and conditions, they will remain so. To sum up, we hope that the hatchet will one day be buried, and that amateur players in Poland will stop being vilified and ridiculed simply because they lost to someone or had a poor match. We don’t want to get into politics, but this is slowly turning into a political game, much like the never-ending battle between PO and PiS.
