We’ve already written about Iron Ravens, Miami Esports and The Bulls Team. Today it’s time to look at another of our partners, and the penultimate team competing in VPG Polska’s top division. We’re talking, of course, about Angry Wolves, who managed to secure their place in the league for another season.

Just four points from the first five rounds. A poor start from our partner. We’re curious to know what the ‘mental’ state was like after so many matches had been played – did the Angry Wolves players already expect a difficult season in which they would be fighting to stay up?

One point from the next five matches – quite a disappointment? Not entirely; it’s worth noting that Angry Wolves are fighting to avoid relegation. Setting realistic goals (in this case, survival), it’s difficult to steal points from teams like GSK Esport, Illegal Esport or Cunning Foxes, who are battling for the title. The only match where the Angry Wolves players could have performed better was against the Angry Panthers. Halfway through the season, our partner has 7 points on the board; it doesn’t look too promising.

We don’t know what happened to Angry Wolves, but in their next five matches, the team recorded three wins. Admittedly, one was a walkover, but after a performance like that, they simply deserved it. It’s worth noting that the match against YNG SKiLLZ was also very close, with a narrow 0–1 defeat.

In subsequent matches, our partner continued to surprise. 3 points from 5 matches played, including a convincing 6–1 victory against Angry Panthers. Two defeats against teams such as The Bulls Team and GSK Esport, for which no one blames them.

The last five matches haven’t been the best. Whilst our partner did face teams such as Illegal Esports and Cunning Foxes, who battle for the title season after season, we feel that an opponent of MF Killers’ calibre was well within their reach.

Seven wins and six draws from 30 matches played were enough to secure a place in the top flight again next season. This record of wins and draws gave them 27 points. A two-point lead over 14th-placed Angry Panthers, who will not be playing in this league next season, unless they take HYPNO’s place. During the “VPG Polska” campaign, the team received one article specifically about this league. This was mainly because Angry Wolves are a relatively new partner, having joined us on 18 March this year.
Angry Wolves will play in the next VPG Polska season. We don’t know what their goals are for the coming season, but most teams probably don’t want to be fighting to avoid relegation. It seems to us that their minimum goal might be a stable position in the middle of the table or slightly lower.
