The DR Esports players ultimately finished the Shadow League tournament in 3rd–4th place, being knocked out in the semi-finals after losing 0–2 in a best-of-three series against NoFipalNoWin. Today, we’ll take a closer look at DR Esports’ journey in this year’s tournament.
In the group stage, our partner played three matches. They managed to secure three points out of a possible nine. Only Gravity Esports finished higher in the group, having beaten DR Esports 13–11. In the group stage, they faced NoFipalNoWin; interestingly, it was NoFipalNoWin who won that match, 13–5. So why such a disparity in the map results in the play-offs? We don’t know, but perhaps the opposing team’s players used a UNO card.
- 11:13 vs. Gravity Esports
- 13:5 vs. NoFipalNoWin
- 7:13 vs. LHG
The players won just one of their three group stage matches, yet we still saw them reach the tournament’s semi-finals. Unfortunately, as the tournament isn’t one of the best organised or best publicised, we don’t know whether the DR Esports players qualified – given that the tournament format allowed three teams to progress – or whether a team from their group simply ‘disbanded’. Either way, advancing after just one win doesn’t look great, but it’s not the worst scenario one could imagine.
Semi-final
In the aforementioned semi-final, they found themselves up against NoFipalNoWin, where, as we know, they ultimately lost 0–2 across the two maps, with one map going to a close fight (Nuke). On the other map, however, they were completely dominated.
- 11:13 – nuke
- 3:13 – inferno
Despite the fact that DR Esports finished 3rd–4th in this tournament, the event should probably be classified as average. One match won – and that in the group stage – and finishing 3rd–4th in the tournament only goes to show just how ‘well’ organised the tournament was, and the achievement itself can be compared to Inter Miami’s participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Nevertheless, congratulations on finishing 3rd–4th in this tournament.
