To secure a place in the play-offs this season, as in many previous Arrmy Open seasons, a team had to win 7 out of the 10 matches to be played. It’s not exactly easy, but for many teams with Level 10 Faceit players in their ranks, this is practically the minimum target. POLteam have performed flawlessly so far; in our previous article, we described how, thanks to three more victories, they managed to achieve a 5–0 record. On 13 July, they played two matches that would decide whether they could secure a place in the play-offs after just their first seven matches.
A clash against the top teams?
Their first opponent in the battle for their coveted goal was Default Legends Esport. They went into this clash with a 4:1 record, so they were certainly no pushovers. The match took place on the Anubis map, where our partner feels at home and performs quite well. Our partner started on the defending side and made it clear from the outset that they were out for victory. POLteam secured both the pistol round and the opponents’ force round, which soon gave them a 3–0 lead. Their opponents weren’t about to give up either, and managed to string together a run of winning rounds that levelled the score. However, our partner team quickly regained the lead, this time by two points. Once again, though, the opponents fought back, and the scoreboard showed a draw once more. The last two rounds of the first half, however, were won by our partner team, and it was they who ended the first half with a 7–5 lead. The second half began innocently enough, with a win in the pistol round and a start that extended their lead. However, this run of victories only came to an end at 13–5, and it was with this result that POLteam secured their sixth victory without a single defeat.

A match to secure a place in the play-offs
The final match that could have secured a play-off spot for POLteam was against the ex-Firewolf Clan squad, who used to be our partners, but whose line-up fell apart and are now competing under that name in their new line-up. The map chosen was Inferno, which is particularly rare in Arrma’s matches. Our partners once again started on the defending side. The pistol round went in favour of our favourites, and they began with a 2:0 lead. However, that lead quickly crumbled and it was the opponents who began to pull further and further ahead. POLteam were already in quite a bit of trouble when the opponents took a 6:3 lead, but then they kicked into sixth gear and began their comeback. By the end of the first half, they had managed to level the score. The second half began innocently enough once again, but when Nexium POLteam get going, no one can stop them. That was the case this time too, as their opponents failed to win a single round after the switch, which meant only one thing – a 13–6 victory and a place in the play-offs with three matches remaining in the regular season.
