Who’s on top in ESEA Entry? A closer look at our partners following the group stage

The main phase of ESEA Entry has come to an end, and the excitement is at its peak! Our partners – specifically Vandals Clan, Victoria Nostra, Panico eSports and VoFoxen Rising – have shown their full potential, risen to the challenges and made their mark on the league. Each of these teams had their own story: from spectacular moments, through unexpected difficulties, right up to the battle for every point that could decide their progression to the play-offs. In this article, we take a closer look at these four teams and find out who shone, who faced problems, and above all… Which teams have qualified for the knockout stages, and which will have to wait for another chance to show their full potential?

Our partners at ESEA Entry – a round-up of the regular season

Vandals Clan

Throughout the ESEA Entry group stage, Vandals Clan proved that they are not only capable of bouncing back from difficult spells but also of competing for the top spots in the league. The team displayed consistency, ambition and a fighting spirit, ensuring their performances were full of excitement and unpredictable twists and turns. Every match provided new insights, and the team gained valuable experience that will be essential in the play-offs.

Vandals Clan 7:13 40CMBICEPS | Train

In one of their most recent matches, Vandals Clan faced 40CMBICEPS on the Train map. The match ended 7:13, showing that the team still had to contend with opponents who were able to capitalise effectively on their moments of advantage. The second scheduled match was a bye round. As a result, the points were awarded automatically… Although there was no real competition, which would have allowed the team to test themselves in practice ahead of the next stages.

Thanks to some solid performances, Vandals Clan have qualified for the B bracket of the play-offs, where they will continue to fight for the chance to be promoted to a higher division. This, in turn, means that the team must continue to prove their skills and score consistently if they are to have any hope of achieving full success in ESEA Entry.

Victoria Nostra

Victoria Nostra is one of those teams that, right from the opening rounds of the season, made it clear they were in the running for the top spots. We’ve been following their journey through ESEA Entry in several articles. From the very start of the competition, through an impressive run of strong performances, right up to their fight for the top spots in the league. The end of the regular season was exceptionally intense for them… Four matches, each completely different, each telling a different story.

ViNo got off to a flying start, dominating XRAVEL on Ancient. The 13:3 scoreline leaves no room for doubt… Complete control, excellent teamwork and a pace their opponents were completely unable to match. It was a match that highlighted their confidence and map preparation. The second clash was much more evenly matched. The clash with FEEL FORCE on Overpass ended 11–13, and Victoria Nostra were, for a moment, on the verge of getting back into the match, but the final stages belonged to their opponents.

In their clash with team NO-NAME on Mirage, Victoria Nostra showed character and patience. The 13:10 scoreline says it all… Fighting until the very end, handling the pressure and capitalising effectively on key moments. It was a match that could have gone either way. Ultimately, however, their individual superiority and better decision-making secured them the victory. The final match, also played on Mirage, proved to be more difficult. The 9–13 result shows that their opponents found their rhythm better in the closing stages and capitalised on their chances, whilst Victoria Nostra struggled to maintain the pace they’d shown in previous matches.

Despite a mixed end to the season, Victoria Nostra had already secured their place in the play-offs. This allowed them to approach their final matches with greater composure. However, this does not mean the end of their ambitions. The team still has something to play for, as a strong performance in the decisive matches could allow them to challenge for an even better result in the knockout stages. If they can maintain the standard they showed in their strongest matches, Victoria Nostra can realistically aim higher and make a stronger mark in this season’s play-offs.

Panico eSports

Panico eSports has had one of the most turbulent seasons of all our partners. Right from the start of the competition, it was clear that they were in for an uneven, at times chaotic journey — as we mentioned in previous articles, including at the start of the season when the team was searching for its identity on the server, and in pieces about their struggle for stability or subsequent squad issues, which significantly affected their rhythm of play.

Panico eSports 8:13 AnimeFans | Dust 2

Right at the end of the regular season, Panico played four official matches, only one of which was played in full on the server. The clash with AnimeFans on Dust 2 ended with a score of 8:13. Unfortunately, despite moments of good play, the team lacked both team cohesion and effective reactions in crucial rounds. The remaining three matches, against HEXEN, Izanami and NIX PARDUS, ended in walkovers. This gave Panico a few valuable points in the table… However, it did not allow for a realistic assessment of the team’s form or the chance to practise the changes intended to help them overcome their slump.

Ultimately, Panico eSports failed to turn around their difficult season and finished the regular season outside the promotion places. For the team, this will be a time to take stock, reorganise the squad and get back to work on the fundamentals that will allow them to tackle the next season with greater confidence.

VoFoxen Rising

The Foxes’ academy had one of the longest and most dynamic seasons of any team at Entry level. Right at the start of the competition, we wrote about them in the context of their initial challenges and the need to build consistent form, which naturally became the main theme of the first part of their campaign. In the weeks that followed, VoFoxen Rising got back on track. You could read about this in our coverage of their search for match rhythm.

In the final stages of the season, the academy played as many as five matches, which clearly demonstrated the team’s inconsistency, but also their potential. First, on Dust 2, VoFoxen Rising secured a confident 13–6 victory over 1Minute, demonstrating control of the tempo and excellent individual play. Then came two more challenging moments… Specifically, defeats of 9–13 to NoName Team on Ancient and 3–13 to Ira Draconis Academy on Dust 2, in which many plays simply didn’t go their way.

However, the last two matches proved to be the decisive ones. First, a thrilling and eventful encounter with Mad Buckos on Mirage ended in a 16:13 victory. In doing so, VoFoxen Rising showed immense determination and managed to clinch rounds that often decided the outcome of the match. They saved an absolute ‘statement win’ for the very end – a 13:2 victory over Midgard eSports on Mirage, where the academy completely dominated their opponents.

Thanks to such a strong finish, VoFoxen Rising secured a place in the play-offs. Moreover, their end-of-season form suggests that they could cause more trouble in the knockout stages than many expect. If they maintain the intensity shown in their recent matches, the Foxes could really shake things up in the bracket. And this only confirms that the academy is heading in the right direction.

Our partners in ESEA Entry – final thoughts after the regular season

The ESEA regular season is behind us, and our partners have taken us through the full spectrum of emotions. From spectacular winning streaks, through nail-biting matches, right down to walkovers and moments that can turn a season on its head. Each team has had its own story… They’ve built up their form, honed their style of play and fought for the best possible seeding. Most importantly, however, the majority of them have secured a place in the play-offs. Now it all depends on how they cope with the pressure. Because the knockout stage is unforgiving. Decisive matches now lie ahead. We’ll continue to watch as our partners battle to achieve their goals. If their form from the end of the season carries over into the play-offs, we can expect some truly thrilling matches.
