Our partners in ESEA Open10 S52

The regular season of the 52nd ESEA season has recently come to an end. The play-offs have now begun, with teams battling it out for promotion to ever higher tiers of competition. It is hardest to advance from the Open league, as you never know whether your opponent might be a powerhouse organisation such as HAVU. Firewolf Clan, Gloris eSports and Young Stars Academy were all battling for promotion from this league. How did they fare?

Starting with the Young Stars Academy. They didn’t fare too well in the regular season, securing just 6 wins against 8 defeats. They therefore finished in 478th–479th place, failing to qualify for the play-offs, for which they needed to be in 432nd place. Their season thus ends at this stage, and next season they will once again compete for a place in a higher league.

Young Stars Academy:
record: 6:8;
position: 478–479;
failed to qualify for the play-offs.

Our second partner taking part in this competition was Gloris eSports. Unlike the team mentioned above, they managed to secure a place in the play-offs. They finished with a record of 7:7, which placed them in 351st–352nd position. However, they began the play-offs in Pot B, from which only 64 teams advance to the Intermediate division. Meanwhile, a further 128 teams advance to the newly created Entry division. Gloris have already played their first two matches, losing one and receiving a walkover in the other after dropping into the losers’ bracket. Now, however, they cannot afford to make any mistakes, as any defeat will see them eliminated from the play-offs.

Gloris eSports:
record: 7–7;
position: 351–352;
promotion to Play-off Pot B.

Our final partner to compete in ESEA Open10 was Firewolf Clan. They managed to achieve the best record of all our partners in this league, namely 8:6. However, this was not enough to secure a place in the top 48 or guarantee promotion to the Intermediate division and Pot A. They finished in 254th–259th place, which placed them in Pot B for the play-offs. They also played their first match on Tuesday on RedRhino, which they managed to win.

Firewolf Clan:
record: 8–6;
ranking: 254–259;
qualified for Pot B in the play-offs.
