We haven’t focused on VoFoxen in the ESEA league for quite some time. The last time we covered their progress, they were 3–4 at the halfway point of the season and were fighting to even their record. They’ve now played 11 matches and have more than managed to do just that. But how have their last four matches gone? Who will they face in their crucial final three matches? Here are the answers…
A typical Polish vs Polish clash… – 
VoFoxen vs Wazzup
Polish CS, in terms of teams, is heading in a fairly positive direction. More and more Polish squads are reaching higher competitive tiers and proving their mettle there. There are quite a few of these teams in the Entry League, and we see Polish-Polish clashes fairly often. VoFoxen also came up against a Polish team on their way, namely Wazzup. This is a team making its debut at this level of competition, and the match seemed evenly matched from the start. The map for this clash was, unsurprisingly, Mirage. Thanks to winning the knife round, our partner started on the defending side.
They got off to a flying start from the very first round and took a 2–0 lead. Their opponents responded fairly quickly, and we saw the score level at 2–2, and even saw them take a 3–2 lead. This didn’t last long, as VoFoxen managed to fight back, though the draw didn’t last long either, and Wazzup this time took a 7–3 lead. There was an attempt to close the gap before the end of the first half, but it was thwarted, and Wazzup went into the break leading 8–4.
In the second half, they also managed to get off to a better start, winning the pistol round, but our partner didn’t give up and responded with a won force round, which gave them an initial boost and brought them within two rounds of their opponents. They managed to secure those rounds fairly quickly too, and by the 18th round the score was tied at 9–9. VoFoxen initially failed to take the lead, but after securing another draw – this time at 10–10 – they finally managed to do so. The closing stages were also quite dominant, as they won the last three rounds, ending the match with a 13–10 victory. This brought their record to a neutral 4–4, and they are now fighting to move into positive territory.
A chance to go into the black – VoFoxen vs :ua: SuperStarTeam
Following the victory mentioned above, the chance to go into the black came just an hour later. That’s when our partner took on the Ukrainian side, SuperStarTeam. For them, too, this was their first experience of this league, so there was a chance of an easy win. The map we got to watch in this clash was Overpass, newly added to the map pool. VoFoxen had already played a match on this map, so they knew what to expect. The match was very evenly contested and the winner was decided by the finer details; it was just one round away from going to extra time. Unfortunately, our partner fell short by that one round and had to settle for a negative record, at least for the time being. The match ended, of course, with a 13–11 victory for SuperStarTeam.
Here we go again! The battle for a break-even record…
Another defeat, and once again our partner has to fight with fewer wins than losses on their record. This time, however, we’re up against a rather interesting opponent – judging by the flags on the Faceit platform, they’re straight from Iceland. It’s not a country that produces the biggest CS stars, so it seemed this would be a much easier fixture than previous matches. And here the predictions proved correct, as the Furduverk team didn’t cause much trouble, and our partner dispatched them with a score of 13–6. Thus, they returned to a neutral record once again and were once more set for a match to move into positive territory.
Third time lucky – VoFoxen vs 
Trust_Team
VoFoxen had another chance to move into positive form yesterday (19 August). That’s when they faced off against the Russian team Trust_Team. The map for this match was Mirage, so there was a fairly good chance of success in this clash. Due to losing the knife round, our partner was forced to start on the attacking side, which, despite everything, they are very good at.
The start of this half was nothing short of perfect. They managed to win the pistol round and the first full round, which resulted in a quick 4–0 lead. Our opponents tried to fight back and, to some extent, succeeded, as they reduced the lead to 2 points. VoFoxen had no intention of sitting back and watching this happen, so they added another point to their lead. That lead didn’t last long, however, and the inevitable draw came in the 10th round when the opponents scored their fifth point. They didn’t fare too badly in the final two rounds either, and it was Trust_Team who ended up with a 7–5 lead.
In the second half, the opponents’ winning streak was broken and our partner levelled the score at 7–7. They certainly didn’t manage to take the lead straight away. Their rivals pulled ahead and at one point even held a 10–8 lead. It was then, however, that the Poles kicked into high gear, first levelling the score and then taking the lead. Although there were some nerve-wracking moments as the opponents managed to draw level at 11–11, the final two rounds were dominated, and thanks to this, the long-awaited goal was achieved. VoFoxen finally ended up with a 6–5 win-loss record. They now have their final three matches ahead of them, and these will decide whether we’ll see them in the play-offs or whether this season will end with them fighting to stay in the Entry division.
